Hi All

I can't find a marriage or death for this chappie, so I am thinking that he may have emigrated. His parents were Joseph Edwin Painter and Sarah Dorrington.

Would be glad of any assistance in tracking him down please!

Have you found any death records for the parents ?

Could he have been an informant ?

GB Have found deaths of parents on FreeBMD but have not gone the route of buying certs. Bruce had a sister Sara Madge who married in the Forest and presumably stayed there. I daresay she would likely be the informant.

Kathleen - thanks. An intriguing one!

GB I only started exploring this branch of the family last night.

I was in contact with a David Painter some time ago via Genes Reunited and I have access to his tree. I tried looking for Bruce on there last night but he doesn't show (lots of rellies 'hidden').

GB So he was still around in 1962 then (and living in the same road as an aunt and uncle of mine!). Thanks

EDIT - Just realised it was his father that was living in Church Rd not Bruce. Time I woke up!

Small chance he could still be alive or died after 2005/6

Do you have access to Ancestry to look at the BT Phone books as they go to 1984

Electoral registers have a Bruce Painter in Gloucestershire up to 2008 but no way of knowing if the same person or not

Edit entries up to 2011

Thankyou for your efforts on my behalf, it is much appreciated. You have also given me some interesting info about Joseph & Sarah that I can add to my family history.

Kind Regards
