The only other thing I know is that she had a baby (as a single mother) while living as a lodger in Hampstead (Dartmouth Park Road). Then she moved to Tooting.
Otherwise, it's all rather a needle in a haystack job!

To Reggie - Cotton was Doris's maiden name. I don't know where she was born, but she did live (lodging) in Hampstead for a short while just before she moved to Tooting.
As Cotton is such a popular surname, but Pyne is more unusual, I thought that the Pyne family would be a good place to start. Thanks.

So she's on the 1939 ER with the Pryne and Henry Stevens.

You are likely to be looking for a birth prior to or in 1918 as the age of majority was 21. Full emancipation did not take place until 1928

Thank you very much for your responses.
I am really looking for anyone that might remember another lodger in 90 Gassiot Road, Tooting, called Doris Cotton. I would like to know where she moved onto during/after the war and if she married and had children. As there are so many Doris Cottons on the records and there were no electoral registers taken in the WW2 years she is extremely hard to locate.

The other in 1941 in Hereford Reg.

Although the 1941 one might be to another couple, Ethel could have been evacuated there.

Would anyone have any information regarding John Murrin Pyne or Ethel May Pyne who lived at 90 Gassiot Road, Tooting, London SW17 in 1939?

Also living with them was Henry James Stevens (a lodger?)
