	Try looking for info at.......................... https://familysearch.org/ What evidence does your friend have to support the idea that the surname was changed? And when would that have been?

	Do you know for certain if Daniel had any siblings? If so......you could check to see if any of their births were registered.

	The best way to find out Daniel's mother's maiden name would be to purchase a copy of his birth cert. The problem is, there does not appear to be a birth registered for him.

	sorry - no parents named - Cardiff does have a large Irish community and there are many McCarthy's, but not one Byker
