Help to use the old BMD and Census

I am trying to find the old way of looking for BMD,s &sensus,s,isthere any Web Sites that someone knows of?I have been told that computer are not entirely 100% reliable. Gladys

Not sure what you mean...............what is the 'old' way? I thought the 'old' way was visiting records offices................but I'm probably mistaken

Assuming you refer to England/Wales

for BMD's between 1837 and approx 1955 go to............

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

For censuses..............

Ancestry has all available

FMP has all available

Familysearch has 1881.......and parts, at least, of other years. (Free)

I believe GR also has censuses and BMD's, but have never used them
