For info.

Scottish and English from the Gaelic name Domhnall, "world ruler" [TG]. This was the name of four Kings of Scotland.

Daniel and Donald are sometimes, but not always, interchangeable in Scotland because Domhnall, the Gaelic version of Donald, may be Anglicized as Daniel. We have therefore classified these two names as Lesser Synonyms although it should be noted that these two names were fully synonymous in the 17th century and earlier.

From http://www.whatsinaname.net/

I have a few instances in my tree where these two names have been interchanged.

Don't see any marriage in England/Wales/Scotland between Donald/Daniel and Catherine Candy.

The McGlashan 1838 marriage posted above can't be the one.
Also can't see any Candy/McGlashan link

It takes more than one credit to view anything. £7 gets you 30 credits

1 credit will give you the search results and 5 credits to view the image

Civil Registration began in Scotland in 1855 so you will be looking at the old parish records

Have you found anything on IGI
