i'M CONFUSED - CAN ANYONE HELP ME SORT THIS OUT? I have a WILLIAM HURRELL born 29/12/1807 and WILLIAM HURRELL baptised 2/7/1806 both appear to be born in East Alvington. Devon. One of them was married to Mary Ann Wood in 1837 at All Saints, Malborough, Devon and so is a member of my family tree but which one or could there be an error and they are the same person?

Anyone able to help me? I was looking for William's parents when I hit this problem so I could do with help there as well. Thank you everyone. linda

You often find that baptised in a year and appearing on census as born a year later.

It wouldn't be unknown for a son to die and the next child be named the same.

If the one who married is your proven line....................buy the marriage cert for confirmation of his father's name (if known)
