My grandfather,Harry Frederick Hunt, was allegedly born Rottingdean,Sussex UK in 1863/4., married Susan Jane Chapple 1899 in Sydney. His father was given on his marriage certificate as Frederick Harry Hunt (dec'd) and mother as Rosa Caroline Baldacci. He died 1910,leaving widow,Susan, and daughter Nellie(my mother). My mother told me she had a half brother in England. I cannot find any record of his birth or life in England. Can anyone help me, please. |

Many thanks for your reply, Penny. I am suspecting he could have had a scheme whereby he changed his name when he came to Australia, if he left a wife and child behind. I keep trying. Marjorie. |

Baldacci is a common Italian name, I found her on the 1841 census, she would have been c.33 when 'Harry' was born - possible. I have almost decided that Harry came from under a rock and swam to Australia - but not quite. Thanks again. |
