Hi, does anyone know if its possible to obtain career records for the" New Manchester Borough Police Force"? My 3x Gt grandfather John Taylor was an inspector between 1842 & 1856. He had to resign from the force in 1856 due to being severely injured in the Chartists riots in 1848. Would they still have records that far back?
Regards
Chris

Contact the Police Authority - and ask them.

Or (if feasible) visit the County Records Office.................or get in touch with them

Or google..............................
