Hi am still trying to find out more info about my Grandfather and his parents ,he was born in Halifax,Yorks. in1889according to 1891 Census he was in the vHalifax Union Workhouse when he was2 years old later he was adopted by aCanadian family the Van Luvens not sure of the spelling.He lived for afew years in Canada, Hamilton,Ontario we believe sometime between 1891 and 1907 when he joined the R oyal Navy.After leaving the Navy in1919 he lived with my Gran,Louie Potter in Bedwas nr. Caerphilly South Wales just trying to find out more about his parents ,his Father was called John that is all I know about his parents and I don't know anything about his adopted parents.Can anyone help?
