Yes she did sign as Simpson on her sisters (Elizabeth) marriage to Arthur Laycock at St Andrews Parish Church Burnley in Sept 1908

I have just spent all morning going through the 1911 Census looking just for an Amelia born 1886 but with no luck

Hit a brick wall. Looking for Amelia Simpson born 1881 with her family on 1901 census Burnley . Father Thomas, mother Margaret A, brother Joseph and sister Elizabeth. She was a witness on her sisters wedding cert in Burnley in 1908 but then disappears!
