I assume the soldier I found was from Greenock, enlisted first in the Argyle & Southern Highlanders and then transferred to Machine gun corps. He could be totally unconnected but it was the only war record I could find that could be relevant to the family. |

There's nothing to back up that death though, no military record (that I can find) the only thing is his medal card on the nat archives website - I can't find it on ancestry as there are so many. |

A tree on ancestry has their marriage 1/10/1909, St Marys, Greenock. Doesn't have a death for him, but gives parents names, mother Agnes, and brother William who was born Greenock: |
