Does anyone know anywhere I can find out where missionaries were posted, as the husband of this lady was a missionary, I know she died in Africa but have no idea where so thought knowing where he was posted might help

I double checked the last passenger list that Elizabeth travelled on, and the country of intended furture residence is marked as N.R or that's what it looks like to me, would this be Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia?

Yes I think it would fit, and it does look like N/R rather than others on page for S/R (Southern Rhodesia?). And when he came back in 1954 he gave an address of c/o Nyasaland House - I'm pretty sure Nyasaland was part of Northern Rhodesia protectorate.

The other consideration - where we haven't found shipping lists - maybe he travelled via Europe so he is not showing up on UK incoming/outgoing passenger lists. Passenger lists for people travelling from Ireland or mainland Europe do not appear to be online (don't even know if they exist). But I'm no expert in this area.
