Was there a reason for picking the Holt baptism?

Here's just one alternative I picked as Ruabon is close to Chirk.

There may well be more, depending on how certain you are of John's approx year of birth - I don't know what information you're basing it on, so I don't know how far the 'window' for his baptisms extends...

Forenames: John
Surname: Philips
Baptism Year: 1719
Baptism Month: Jun
Baptism Day: 07
Place: Ruabon
County: Denbighshire
Birth Year: -
Birth Month: -
Birth Day: -
Fathers Forenames: Edward
Mothers Forenames: Anne

Record source: Denbigh baptisms - Transcripts
Data provider: Welsh Archive Services / Gwasanaethau Archifau Cymru

This is the one you're interested in? It only lists one parent, whose forename I can't make out.

Going by the other baptisms on the page, the parent cited is usually the father.

Forenames: John
Surname: Phillips
Baptism Year: 1717
Baptism Month: Sep
Baptism Day: 22
Place: Holt
County: Denbighshire
Birth Year: -
Birth Month: -
Birth Day: -
Fathers Forenames: -
Mothers Forenames: -

I have no idea if this is the John that married Catherine.

Will try and pm you the image so you can try and work out name of father. I did wonder if it were Geraint, but I think I'm probably stretching it.
