There is a good chance that they'll know where he is, and possibly give you either his contact details if he has moved into say a Care Home, or that of his next of kin.

ER entires are supposed to reflect the names of the eligible occupants as of Oct the previous year. On that basis Francis was still living there in Oct 2011.

If he hasn't moved or died, he could have opted out of the ER listing. The fact that he is still in the phone book does suggest that until sometime last year he was stlll resident. If you got a ringing tone, the phone is still connected. He could have been away, deaf, ill or someone who only answers the phone to 'known' numbers.

However, pen and paper (or the equivalent) is the prefered option.

Actually she was born in August 1927 and would be 86 now. Her husband was born in 1928, married in 1953

Write to Francis, and the immediate neighbours - put your return address on the back of the envelope. It's much better than phoning and gives the addressee time to consider their response.

As a rough estimate, Thelma could have been born about 1933 assuming aged 20 when she married. That means she and her husband would be c 80 now.
BMD are not on line after 2005, assuming Thelma was still married to Francis.

Francis Kyte stops at 2012 on ER and does not answer his telephone. I have found no record for Thelma in BMD.

Every UK phone book is in every main public library

And you've been advised that the husband is in the phone book on line.

In view of the info posted by patchem about the ER (did you notice it?) it may be that Thelma has died

Phone books only work if you know where they live, I have tried electoral roll, but with little result

There is an Adrian Kyte(son) and Fiona Wright (daughter) but cannot find them , any joy there?

Husband is on BT phone book online, there is no indication ( using Zoopla) that the property has changed hands unless it was in the last few months.

Francis is showing to 2012, Thelma only to 2009.

I am looking for an old friend who knew in 1945 and 1947 . Last heard of in Burnham Slough. Found her telephone no and electoral details but no answers there. Does anyone know of her?
