Despite saying she was a widow in 1851 (so as not to admit to the shame of being an unwed mother?), there is this baptism for a Sarah Crosley in Newington, the birthplace given by Sarah in the 1851:
Name: Sarah Crosley Record Type: Baptism Baptism Date: 10 Nov 1822 Father's Name: Robert Crosley Mother's Name: Elizabeth Crosley Parish or Poor Law Union: Newington St Mary Borough: Southwark Register Type: Parish Registers Father a cheesemonger.
Different area, and no father's occupation given.
Name: Martha Crossley Baptism Date: 1 Nov 1812 Parish: St Mary, Stratford Bow County: Middlesex Borough: Tower Hamlets Parent(s): Robert Crossley, Elizabeth Crossley Record Type: Baptism Register Type: Parish Register
Any chance that Martha Crosley Bacon and Sarah Crossley aka Hutton were sisters, making Elizabeth Martha Crossley's parents first cousins as well as husband and wife?
EDIT: Unfortunately I can't find a baptism for Priscilla Crosley, Martha's marriage witness .
So this is a bit nebulous at the moment.

Sarah Crowley (Crossley?) was supposedly a widow in 1851 census (but was that a face saver?) and born Newington, Surrey, which had changed to St Lukes by 1861.

This one is interesting as on the image, Joseph's forenames are written Joseph William , then what looks like Hut, which has been crossed out. There's even what looks like the start of the upward stroke of the second 't' of 'Hutton', before the word is scored through.
Born 22nd Feb 1848. Address Bull Leas Court. Mother (?) a worsted ??????
EDIT: Also, on the image, father's name Joseph has been crossed out as well, though included in the transcription.
Maybe there's some issue as to whether Joseph William's parents were married or not?
