Thomson Birth - Scotland

Hi - Can anyone help me locate parent and pob details for William Thomson born scotland 27/08/1935. This is the only details I have currently. Any assistance would be greatly apprecited.

You will need to use Scotland's People website - pay to view £7 for 30 credits. As the birth is under 100years ago you will have to buy the certificate for details.

Just by putting in his name and year - 65 matches come up, that's 3 pages. 1 credit will let you look at a page and will give forenames and the District and County where each was born and the General Register Office Data you would need to buy the certificate, which you can do via the site

If you have any idea where he was born this would cut down the number of matches, as would knowing if there were or were not other forenames.

I'm not really keen on paying for 65 extracts at £12 a pop - just thought there may be a smarter way around this.. Thanks for trying.

If you would probably need to find someone going to the Scotlandspeople certre to look at the births for you. Even then you would have to hope that there was only one William Thomson with that particular birth date.
