Find Ancestors

Hi,
This is driving me mad!
On the GR census for 1911 the re is a James Constable, born 1846 in Stoke, Staffs living in Middlesbrough.
His wife is Susan, born 1862 in New York and the marriage took place in 1906.( I take it in Middlesbrough)
I cannot find any records of the marriage anywhere and I would like to find out what Susan's maiden name was.
Can anyone help?

It looks like her and John had split. John couldn't remarry, so no marriage record.

Thanks for the replies, Susan was James's second wife and as he died in Middlesbrough in 1930 I thought he may have married there in 1906.
Sarah was his 1st wife and died in 1904 after bearing 11 children, phew!
I can't find any records of their marriage(Susan and James) apart from the 1911 census.

Hello Karin, do you actually have the certificate for the 1904 death you believe to be Sarah's?

Have to say I agree that it looks like they split and the 5 years married on the 1911 is possibly just how long James and Susan had been together.

I don't have the death certificate for Sarah but I found it on the fbmd site.
It would help if I could find Susan's maiden name but I can't find it .
You could be right about them splitting up if I found the wrong Sarah on bmd.
It's a bit of a muddle but with your info I'll start again to make sure I have the right one.

Where was James in 1891 and 1901??
Sarah deffinately alive in 1911.
