Christina Massie was my dad's aunt. She was born 22/6/1861, so missed the 1861 census.
I need the household details for the 1871 census, please. She's findable on Ancestry:

Exact Search Results - 1871 Scotland Census
Name Parent or spouse names Estimated Birth Year Birthplace Relation Civil Parish County
Christina Massie abt 1861 New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire Servant New Pitsligo Aberdeenshire

but I don't have a sub. I have the details for 1881 - she married another Massie - no relation so far as I know, and has a wee daur (Flora Lynn Busch? Massie). Christina died before 1891, and hubby George remarried - he would later emigrate to Canada in the early 1920s. Flora married a couple of times, I think and maybe even moved to England, but it's Christina I'm interested in here.

RG, Andy - many thanks for that. I checked
http://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html
for 385300,859200 and see the Shooting Lodge was at the Den of Glasslaw - Christina's parents were their neighbours to the NE, abt 800m away, at Nether Glasslaw.

I've managed to guess everyone's pob - could someone please give me all the Duncans' occupations.
Christina's sister's future mum-in-law had Alexr Duncan b 1830 as her step-dad - this was 2 parishes away in Old Deer, but there might still be some Duncan connection.

Ann, Andy - yes, you're correct abt parents & sibs. However, I knew this already, and tried to steer people away from looking this up.

Thanks Chris - I did have these details once, but lost them in a disk crash.
However, I had seen them so I had the general picture, although some details I didn't recall. William Hendry moved down to Lancs, I think, and I was in touch with his grandson by a 2nd marr. Flora had some kids, I recall, and one had the mid-name Greig, presumably after her aunt (and my gran's married name).

I started doing my Massie's again to take advantage of Ancestry's free travel records (but that ends in a few hours now) - Flora's maternal uncle followed her cousin to Canada in 1914, and her dad took most of her family to Canada in 1920 - her bro followed in 1923.

Since I won't be deleting this thread, I should set a couple of things straight re my last post. I checked, and it was only my notes on Flora that I didn't back up - I did back up my scans of some certs I have relating to her. "Buch" is SP's abbreviation for Buchan - John Greig Hendry b 17/8/1903, so named after her uncle, and indirectly her aunt - she also named another of her kids George Alexander Cardno Hendry 10/4/1907--22/6/1972 after her dad, both pob=Edinburgh. William Hendry moved down to Yorks - I don't know if I misremembered or misread Bilton as Bolton - probaibly the latter, even though I no longer live a nine-penny bus ride away from Bolton (I guess nobody does nowadays) - Bilton's effectively a suburb of Harrogate - I've never been there.
