Looking for marriage: Charles Rowswell from Somerset and Susan (don't know maiden name). They were living in Eardington, Shropshire according to 1901 census and had 3 children, the eldest being 13 at the time of census. Estimated year of marriage would be 1888 ish. Thank you! |

If this is them, then they had been married 25 years in 1911 (1886): |

Thanks Potty and Dea. These reecords all tie in with the info that I have such as The Swan Inn, Bridgenorth. I don't have any of the children's birth certs unfortunately. I'm wondering if it's worth sending form the 1887 marriage cert? |

As Dea, said don't send for the marriage cert. You need to get one of the children's birth certs which will give you Susan's maiden name to confirm that you have the correct couple. |

DO get one of those birth certs though to confirm we have found the correct marriage, otherwise you will be adding the wrong people onto your tree, |

Agree with Dea, Beth. Have made the mistake of not buying a cert and so gone down a wrong line - it's a real pain to correct later! |

By the way, I have family info on the Rowswell's in Bridgenorth and Wellington. I have a death cert for Sybil too. I knew Charles Rowswell was the inn-keeper of The Swan and married Susan ??? - prior to that nothing. Seems the maternal side were from Shropshire and paternal (Rowswell's) from the South. Thanks again! :-) |

Just a thought Beth there is a Wellington in Somerset too - had this problem early in my tree research with a birth in Oakengates in Shropshire - GRO was Wellington but it kept coming up with inferred county Somerset :-( So bear this in mind! |
