I'd say this 1871 looks more likely:

John and the children born Eastwell, his wife Mary and her mother born Clawson.

Mary Elizabeth is 4 months old so that ties in very well with the birthdate as census taken 2 April 1871.

Thanks but not really sure this is correct family. Have a hard time picturing Mary Taylor age 50 being mother of Mary Elizabeth and Alice Eliza.

Could someone do an 1871 lookup please for Mary Elizabeth?
When she married in Ontario Canada she gave her parents as John Taylor and Mary Clayton who freebmd show as being married Melton Mowbray district in 1863. There is also a Mary Elizabeth birth 1870 Melton Mowbray. I am looking for place of birth which could be either Leicestershire or Nottinghamshire. The 1901 Canadian census shows her as being born24 Nov 1870. She died 20 Nov 1904 Kent Ontario.
