Friend now has this certificate for Mary's death at sea.She was British, but there is nothing to positively identify her as being her relative other than an Auckland , NZ address, which might be a family home.

Can anyone help with occupants of 114 Victoria Street, Auckland, which is shown as her last address, please?

Interesting............

I have just been sent this link, which makes it a bit more possible that this might be the missing Mary Ann

http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast?a=d&d=CHP18980301.2.44.2

Are there any more details of her on any of the sites please.?

Thank you for looking Shirley.

Friend at one time headed a one-name-study for the surname, so will probably have checked and will know of Mary Ann who died in 1890, but I will tell her.. thank you.

She obviously didn't travel out in 1892 with John and Emily and their family, but if it wasn't John Ernest's mother,Mary Ann who died on the ship, we would still like to know who she was.

Ship Rimutaka sailed from London 2 February bound for NZ.

Trying to help a friend identify a lady who died during the voyage, as mentioned in a newspaper.................................

...Wellington....Thursday..
'During the voyage of the Rimutaka from London on February 19, Mrs Belchamber of Auckland, 78 years of age, second saloon passenger died of heart disease.....................................

Would you read this as the lady having previously lived in NZ or just on her way there?
Friend has a BELCHAMBER family who emigrated there in 1892, but has always wondered what happened to the man's mother b. 1823, as she wasn't with them in 1891 census in West Ham and she's never found a death for her.
Her name was Mary Ann nee COPPLE

Any help identifying where Mary Ann went and if it was her who died onboard would be great please.
