Thank you for info help on Edith Joiner. Sorry for muddled explanation. I was looking for an Edith Joiner who emigrated to possibly New York, in 1903, following a request from a family researcher in New York who thought that I might be related to her through a mutual ancestor. However, my Edith Joiner,b 1887 correctly listed as in 1891 census as being daughter of Charles and Hannah, of Wandsworth dist. as you say, went on to marry I believe Albert Ocock and remained in England. The other Edith May or Mabel, was from Devon, similar age, emigrated in 1903 to NY. from Southampton. The link I made with Canada and or New York was that other Joiners had emigrated to Quebec at the turn of the century and that could have been a connection as they may have stayed with family initially. May be sorted now, so thanks again! My tree to be updated.

You have put Canada/New York and then Uttica, New York.
Canada is not America.
Have you found her in censuses as Edith May Wilson in Uttica, or a death for her there?
Why do you think she was adopted?

As you say there were possibly two, what do you know about your Edith May's later life, such as who did she marry, who were her children? Where did Charles and Hannah live?

Hi Any information on above please would be appreciated, Edith born 1885-7 may have been adopted. Parents may be Charles and Hannah, but looking at emigration to Canada/New York, and cant establish which Edith May it is as there are two (one possibly just May Joiner who married Samuel Wilson. Looking for Charles and Hannahs daughter, but info on American May Joiner/Wilson needed too. She lived in Utica, New York. Thanks.
