Findingmypast Report 23 Aug 2013 16:06

1851 * 1861 * 1871 census' for William Baskott (born about 1811, Marton, Warwicks - died Coventry 1882) with wife Mary (born about 1812, Coventry - died Coventry 1888) - married Coventry 20 February 1831.

On 1841 census they are living in Spon Street, Coventry.
William is a labourer, with children : Catherine (1832), Ellen Martha (1835), Susannah (1836), Maria (1838) and Mary Ann (1841 - died 1842) - all born in Coventry ***

*** all surviving children from 1841 were married by the time of the 1861 census ***

On 1881 census i think (?) William is mistranscribed as' William Bushell', a general labourer living with wife Mary and grandson 'Joshua Bushell' at 45 Adelaide Street, Coventry.

Many thanks.

Hi AnnCardiff,

Many thanks for the 1871 census - most appreciated.

I'm afraid William died in 1882, the William George Baskott buried in Marton (1870) is an infant child / baby.
I've no idea who his parents were unfortunately, he is on my list of ''strays''.

Findingmypast

Have you ever considered taking out the two week free trial on Ancestry, some great Warwickshire info on there.

Unless you previously have of course

many thanks Andrew - especially the baptism for William (which i didn't have).

George - i'm afraid i would need a lot longer than two free weeks ! (and a much larger pension to afford Ancestry), as the family i've been researching since about December last year is not my own, as i'm doing this for a friend without computer access.

FreeBMD & Familysearch are amazing tools for free research but posting for census help on GR fills-in lots of gaps.

Thanks for your interest.

There are possible siblings for William if you want the details.

Also the original images are available as well.
