Catherine a thought the first born of George and Mary was a George Henry !!!

Catherine , been following your story , interesting , if the 1911 census family are yours - The James Henry Taylor born about 1870 could be the James H Taylor who died Mar. Q 1942 Lambeth 71y places him as dying between George Taylor's 2 marriages 1937 - 1948.

do you know the address at which the family lived when the first born of George and Mary Taylor arrived as I have been trying to follow them through electoral roll , James and Emily are still in Nealdon Street 1920s

children
James Walter sep 1895
George Henry mar 1898 -- he may have been born on the date 21 st Nov. but not reg until late dec and been added to March ??
Donald Thomas dec 1899

Both James Walter and Donald Thomas died June Q 1901.

might not what you may be looking for but may help

Catherine Report 24 Aug 2013 20:54

The death is right, my husband registerd the death, and as we didnt know were
he was born and his real year of birth he was told to guess ???
Then we asked my husbands mother, and she told us his birth date and year,
as she found it out when they were married, but he never did tell her were he was born, but we think it must have been in the Lambeth area.
1970 was the year we started this search now you all know the size of my achin head.

1911 census for 57 Stockwell Green
Registration district 25
sub district 3
Emuneration district 29

1911 James Henry Taylor age 40 (same family as posted for 1901)
5,Nealdon street
Reg district 25
Sub district 3
Emuneration district 29.

So it is looking very possible that the parents of George Taylor could be
James Henry Taylor born @ 1880/1 and Emily nee Thompson.
Her mum is with them on 1911 census as Jane Thompson age 77 born Clapham.

Cathy,

Enjoy your holiday. :-D :-D

Forget about Family History for a few weeks.

Is there sun where you are?

Best,
Maureen

Catherine Report 24 Aug 2013 07:11

Now you know why I need help.
Mary Spurr was my husbands Mother.
Yes you have all Annie Lambourns details right.
I am at my caravan at the moment on holiday, will check regards Terr Wandsworth.
when I get home.
George Taylor was not quite truthful, but if it had been a woman, we would have got
younger, not him, as you have seen.
He also changed his name as you have seen G.J. and G.J.H Taylor, but his name was Just George.
Mother ( Mary ) found out after they were married that he was realy 41yrs old but
she is no longer with us we cant ask questions.
My poor husband just wants to know his roots.

He even fooled Annie.

Cathy

Catherine

Catherine Report 23 Aug 2013 15:41

In 1901 George was 4 as his birthday was November, so the school register is
correct.
We know his father was James.
There was more than one marraige certificate, and his father was always James
but James's ocupation was different on each one.
