Thank you for the suggestion Marie. And also thank you Ann. I did eventually find the marriage record. The typo "Landers" was a double whammy. I have become quite used to searching Sanders for my Saunders.

Hello Annette, on quite a few occasions I've found records for my Northumbrian and Durham relatives in the England, Durham Diocese Bishop's Transcripts, ca. 1700-1900 collection on FamilySearch (Newcastle and Northumberland were covered by the Durham Diocese):

They aren't indexed so aren't searchable, it's a case of browsing through the images for the appropriate time period. I'd start by trying to find the marriage.

Could you please help to find the parents of Catherine Saunders b1812 probably in Northumberland or Durham. She married Ephraim Ryles on 11 July 1830 in Newcastle on Tyne and on the 1841 census is living in Durham. They migrated to Australia in 1849. On birth and death records of her children Catherine's maiden name alternates between Saunders and Thomson. I am assuming her mother remarried at some point. Saunders is the most commonly used name. It appears everybody's trees have stalled at this point or they have used the incorrect details of a Catherine Saunders born in 1808.
