Definitely Flip - sooo much of this matches what I have independently found, though there are a few small date mistakes, so I will contact the tree creator to compare notes - thanks so much for putting me onto Mundia, I didn't even know it existed!

Looks like you have a "ready made" family history - I would normally be cautious about other trees, but a couple of those have so many certificates etc they look to have been well researched.

I'm on Mundia now Flip, huge amount of information, definitely the right family, and George is definitely born in Newcastle, cheers Vera

forget ... George (1861 census being born in Wales..)..I think there are too many dittos ....He was born Newcastle..Isbaella Scotland

George married Mary Jane Cummins in 1863, then Martha Mason in 1880. Died 22/5/1895 at Birchfield House, Prestatyn.

The trees have copies of birth/marriage/death certs - so register for Mundia then you can view and download them!

The tree I was looking at shows a death for Isabella in 1862 - address 17 Wilbraham St! So it looks like the right census Vera.

I have found an 1881 Census record on Family Search, which shows a birth in 1817 for George, in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but married to a Martha - seems she is much younger, so I'm wondering if Isabella died and he remarried?

Awesome Flip - that is definitely the James I am after, and yes the family travelled to Australia in 1872, then in 1886 to New Zealand - the occupations are interesting, as James and later his son Charles (born in Australia) were newspaper printing engineers in NZ

Trying to find George Duncan b 1819 Newcastle on Tyne ? on the 1861 so far no luck.

I can't view the image it is missing from ancestry, but think James arrived in Melborne 24/1/1872 - was in Aus for a while then turns up on New Zealand ERs. Think son Frederick stayed in Australia though.

Gives dob 9/2/1838 Glasgow, marriage date 28/4/1857 Birmingham (Caroline Susannah Davis) and death 30/7/1894 Davenport, NZ

Wow - the names certainly add up, as they had two kids, James and Eliza - I think it could be, certainly opens up some different lines to follow - I did see a Newcastle Goerge, but wasn't sure about it - I'll go back and check now. thanks Vera

Hoping for some help with finding a definite date for this marriage - James Robert Duncan married Caroline Davis in Birmingham in 1857 - and possibly also his parents details - father was George Duncan, apparently born in England (don't know where) according to the 1841 census, married to an Isabella Mushett in Glasgow in 1836, but returned to England later, and lived in Liverpool, till he passed away possibly 1865.

All help appreciated :)
