Genes records should be the same as FMP.
Entering one of my surnames gives:-
British Nationals Armed Forces Births 1761-2005 (32)
British Nationals Born Overseas 1818-2005 (1)
Devon Baptisms (39)
England & Wales Births 1837-2006 (762)
Glamorgan Baptisms (1)
Plymouth Baptism Register (8)
Suffolk Baptism Index (Part 3) (8)
Westminster Baptisms (14)

Or try

Also, some areas have online parish clerks with transcriptions of parish records. This site lists them:

www.onlineparishclerks.org.uk/

Or, google the area plus genealogy.

Baptisms are parish records

Births are civil records.

Two completely different types of records

But......what you can find on GR, I have no idea............I never, ever use GR for research

If you want to look for baptisms................try the FREE site................

There are baptisms online, but not for every county.

You just need to put the birth details in, along with the parents names and if it is online, it should come up. I use Ancestry for searches.

Who are you looking for?

Has anyone actually come across a baptism record whilst looking into the birth section? I've researched (and found) so many birth records but never a baptism (which I know actually exist). Do I have to type in something other than birth? Help!
