Hello

Some time back I found a free site (which I have now lost) that let you look at birth marriage and death records for Australia, the dates covered were about 1850s to about 1930s and they were called: The Pioneers Series, The Federation Series, and Between The Wars.

Can anyone tell me the name of the web site please or has it gone to pay to view.

Regards

Ken

Is this anything to do with it?

This is one person's findings from those Series. Looking at the links it appears that they're only available on CD-Rom.

If you're looking for any particular deaths do you want to give details (I have access to some records)?

This is useful for NSW BMDs

Hi Ken,

I've never heard of this website and I don't know how reliable it would be. Each state and territory holds their own BDM records and our privacy laws in most states are very strict.

Here is the current years available to be searched.
New South Wales — 1788-1912
Northern Territory — 1870-1912
Queensland — 1829-1914,
South Australia — 1842-1928
Tasmania — 1803-1912
Victoria — 1836-1912
Western Australia — 1841-1932

Hello Marie

That looks as if that’s the one I’m on about, and looks as if it’s gone to pay to view (via CD)

I wanted a list from it for the name I’m researching not one individual but thank you all the same.

and Trove newspaper archive can be useful too

Hello Gai

Thank you for that info, it was a good site and even better as it was free but sadly I can’t remember it, but I should think it’s now pay to view.

Hi Ken,

I've just looked at the link that MC posted and notice it hasn't been updated since June 2008.

going to the contact us tab any questions are sent to a Allan Scahill in Canada and the website looks to be his personal research for The Scahill and Johnson Family History Pages

Hello Gai

I could see that it was his own site and Marie said as much in her reply but it looks as if he had seen the same site or print outs from the site that I had seen.

Ken
