I see what you mean, it is a bit confusing regarding the step children, they were born during the marriage to Clay and in between the birth of the other children.

Annie's mother was not Ann nee Mcdonald, who married Purvis before marrying Clay

Check the dates, Karin............and look at ALL the census info I posted................plus the marriages
