Hi again

Sorry I meant the 1871 census ! Martha was born in 1837 in Wootton Oxfordshire
They were in Nottingham in 1871

Yes she was born in Wootton according to the census. They had moved to Nottingham

Many thanks PricklyHolly--not the right one unfortunately-I wonder if the 1857 marriage was a different John Howes. Although their 1st child was born in 1858

Do you mean the 1871 census shows her to be born in Wootton, not finding them 1861 and in 1851 she wouldn't have had her married name-

My gt gt grandparents, John Howes & Martha Ann,married in March 1857 in Woodstock Oxfordshire. I am trying to find Martha's surname without any success.
The 1851 census states she was born in Wootton Oxfordshire.
Would someone be able to help please.
