I have come to the famous brick wall looking for my father's family. Edward Rose was born in Mitcham U.K on may 1 1906 . His parents , Henry Rose and Annie Spice appear to have married in Bromley, Kent in 1915. Ring any bells with anyone?

Thank you for all this information. The parents would appear to be the Spicer /Rose marriage, these are the names which appear on my father's birth cetificate. It could well be that the family were travellers . my dad often talked of having lived for a time in Malta and Ireland but nothing was ever said about the family at all. I can see I need to do more research. Thanks again for your help.

Do you have an occupation for Henry on the birth cert?
Do you know if your father had any siblings?
Were the witnesses on your parents' marriage cert related to him?

Gerald some Gypsy - Traveller families are hard to find on censuses , they get missed and are not always forth coming with details.

Bp could be done by a friendly vicar quite often at Gatherings in certain places
usually for hop and harvesting times

they could at times revert to Mothers maiden names because parents may not have been officially married so dont dismiss the Henry Rose - Ann Lamb marriage just in case it could be ??
