I think this is the Annie in Workhouse 1911.

Annie Sibylla M Shaw born J/F/M1869 9c 309 Sheffield died Chesterfield 1935.

1881 31 Woodhead Road Sheffield parents
Samuel Shaw 1834 Sheffield.Father
Annie S M Shaw 1869 Sheffield.Daughter.
Mary H Randall 1814 Brampton(Mary Hays Shaw)married William Randell 21/5/1839.

1891Brampton Derbyshire
Annie Shaw 1869 Sheffield a cousin no occupation.
Head of house William Hadfield age 53 a farmer
Hannah Hadfield nee Randall (daughter of the Mary H Randall above) they married 17/4/1860

1901 Chesterfield
William Hadfield (Died 1910)
Hannah Hadfeild (Died 1909)
Annie Shaw born Sheffield 1869 cousin no occupation.

So if William and Hannah died then maybe Annie had to go in workhouse as she was unable to look after herself.

There was a Ann Shaw married in Sheffield J/A/S 1889 9c 474 to William latham

I can't see them in 1891 but I think there was a death for Ann latham 1890 but I don't know if it is the same Ann!!

Maybe you should send for lewis Ebert Shaw birth cert.

Why do you think Ann(ie) was Louis's mother?

She would have been barely 15 when he was born.................

Why do you think the woman in Chesterfield is the same Ann(ie)?

In 1881 she was attending school.........I doubt she have been doing that if she had been imbecile from birth

ErikaH Report 11 Aug 2013 22:58

Perhaps someone with an Ancestry sub would look for a baptism for Louis............in West Yorks records
