Find Ancestors

Both Ripon and Pateley Bridge are areas within the Harrogate borough so it is difficult to determine which Isabel is my relative. I need to do some more work on this.

Yes I agree Reggie, 42 was old to be giving birth, that is one of the reasons I wondered if the information was incorrect. I will try the site you suggested, thanks.

I haven't collected all of the information from trees Margee, it is just the Hardcastle connection. I agree it would be unwise to do so.

I don't know it is the same person Patchem, it possibly isn't. I agree it could be an assumption.

Harrogate to Methley is 20+ miles.
How do you know it is the same person?
The other tree owner may just have assumed that she came from Harrogate because that was the nearest Isabel that they could find.
Unfortunately it is a rather large assumption.

You have worked back to your 10th. generation grandmother by copying information from someone else's tree?

Not the correct way to do genealogical research. How do you know it's accurate?

as the marriage was in St Peter's it could well be that the foregoing are the children all baptised in St. Peter's

42 was rather old to be giving birth in the 17th century.............

I am trying to trace the ancestors of my 10th gen Grandmother Isabel Hardcastle who was born in Harrogate, Yorkshire around 1600. She married Richard England of Methley Yorkshire (1600) and gave birth to a son Named Richard around 1642. I have gained all of this information off another tree so I'm not 100% sure of the accuracy.

Having researched the Hardcastle surname around Yorkshire, there was a settlement of people of that name in the Nidderdale area of which Harrogate would be a part.

I have tried to gain information from other trees on the site but without any luck.
Would someone mind trying a look up for me?
