Birth years on census transcriptions are estimated.....................based on the person's age at the time the census was taken.

This child was born at the end of 1897................there is no discrepancy at all

The Winifred born in 1898 (in the 1901 census) is the one I'm looking for - the age ties in with her death so the other Winifred (middle name May) was the wrong one.

The source of birth places for Charles and Annie came from from my mother - their granddaughter, who never met them so it's quite pos this is incorrect - it was just heresay. Although the birth of their children in Batheaston / Larkhall, Bath is definitely correct - that's where the whole family grew up and still live.

Margee - looks like you found Winifred's birth (baptism 23/1/1898) although her dob is one year out her parents names are right.

The woman who married Ingram did not have a second forename..................the child born in Bath had the second name May

Cannot find Annie for sure in earlier censuses. There are at least 2 possibles, both servants and in 1871 there is an Annie as a visitor.

In 1901 the father was still alive - Samuel age 45 born Crockerton, Wiltshire.

I've spent some time on Genes Reunited, Familysearch and freebmd but can't seem to progress with any definite info for my maternal grandparents, above. They were the parents of Winifred Edwards who I have found on GR, was born in Bath, Somerset in 1892 and I've also found her marriage to Percy Ingram in 1922 but this didn't show their parents so I can't get back any further in time.

Charles was from South Wales and Annie Morse from London - they ended up in Bath, Somerset sometime before Winnifred was born in 1892.
