searching Annie Griffin, b: Galway Ireland

Hi all,

I was hoping someone might be able to help me find my g.. grandmother. The details we have include:

Annie Griffin
b: c 1873, Galway Ireland
Father: Patrick Griffin
Mother: Mary O'Brien
source: her marriage certificate in QLD, Australia.

Knowing names, her middle name could have been Anne or Annie, and her first name something else. But she was called that on all of her records.

I have only found one record for a Female Griffin with those parents, born in Galway 2nd April 1870 (source: familysearch.org). But I cannot figure out how to access more information or records to confirm.

She doesnt show up in the Irish 1901 census because she was married in Australia in 1896 - however there is a family in Ballymoe, Galway which might fit.

I also cannot find her on any passenger lists out to QLD - we think she may have come out as a servant, but Im still not sure.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. My nana has been researching her grandmother's history for years with no luck. Let me know if you need any further information.

Thank you!

Erinna, what was Ann's religion? Is her father's occupation given on her marriage cert?

Ann, I did find the Unknown Griffin but not the other two, so thanks for that. Do you know if I can use those details to get a certificate or transcript from Ireland or elsewhere?

Potty, her father Patrick Griffin was listed as a Farmer and she was married Roman
Catholic.

Thanks Potty, I will give it a go. Also, would either of you know why the 3rd Griffin female record does not have a first name?

Possibly because the transcribe could not read the original?
