William, Mary and Jane appear on Page 37. Looks as though his occupation is Hemp and Flax Dresser. |

I agree Stuart - the name transcribed as Allane definitely looks like Mary to me. |

Thank you all so much. I have been trying to find Ann Taylor (b abt 1858 in Surrey) daughter of William Taylor - Hawker. Hawker comes from her marriage to Stephen Welling also a Hawker in 1879 |

People often changed occupation between census years and especially when they got older even those with a skilled job often took more menial jobs so this William could still be the right one. |

Witnesses were William Couch and George Rueben Bird the second also a hawker |

George Reuben Bird appears to be in Greenwich in the 1871 and 1881 census. There is also a William Couch in the same parish. |

I have Ann on the 1881 census with husband Stephen Welling daughter Eliza. at 19 Hales Street Deptford. She is listed as Annie |
