Born Hinton-in-the-Hedges,Northamptonshire,1870 and died Leicester 1961, son of Isaac Alkin Bartlett (1844-1903) & Ann Berner Jeffs (ca.1846-died 1934).

On 1881 census he is with his parents in Kineton, Warwickshire.
On 1891 census he is with his parents in Belper, Derbyshire, and his occupation is veterinary assistant to his father (both parents died in Belper).

George married Annie Edith Murgatroyd in Bradford,Yorkshire,1898 (who died in Derbyshire 1905).
I think he remarried to Ann Drury in Newark, Nottinghamshire,1908.

Annie is the right age - her death is at aged 29 in 1905 so b c1875/6
1891 has him at Kineton - not far from Leamington to the uninitiated and if he lived there from an early age it may be where he thought he came from??

Lots of info. to digest with quite alot of extra research to be done !

Just to say, looking at the original of the FMP version of the 1911 census -
Annie and Thomas have both been crossed out. Not finding them (obviously) elsewhere. At the bottom of the form - to be filled in by the enumerator - only 1 male (and total of 1 person) is recorded in the household.

Nottinghamshire has also been crossed out for Annie and a different hand has put in Henton in the Hedge - presume before they added up the number living in the house to only 1 !
