Rebecca Waddelow's marriage to William Martin on 20th May 1788 is easily found but I cannot find a birth/baptism. They were married in Downham, Cambridgeshire & she is described as "of Littleport" . Any suggestions as to how I can find the birth?

Was she definitely a spinster when she married?

Where have you looked?

Many thanks for all the ideas, I little thought that there would be a Waddelow web site!
My searches have been on Genes Reunited, perhaps I need to look in parish records as well. Regarding Rebecca's marriage to William Martin, I note that a Heber(sic) Martin was an auctioneer in 1920 & sold land at Little Downham, Is this the same Martin family?
I find all the history opened up by a simple query incredible. Littleport Riots I had not heard of before. Once again thank you all so much

could you please remove the "tick" that you put on the post by Potty at 15:23 ..................

the tick indicates that your initial question has been answered, and shows up as such on the Index of threads on the Board.

This means that people will believe that you no longer need any help ................. which I think is wrong??
