In that case I think you need to get more information from them if people are to help you,
You also need to say what you mean by 'trying to find'! Birth, death, census???

Remember Scottish BMD's are on a pay-per-view site called Scotland's People, ditto 1911 census, but previous censuses can be accessed by members on here.

Castle Douglas (Gd: Caisteal Dhùghlais), a town lies in the Civil Parish of Kelton, in Kirkcudbrightshire otherwise known as Stewartry, within the District Region of Dumfries and Galloway, in the eastern part of Galloway in the south of Scotland, between the towns of Dalbeattie and Gatehouse of Fleet.

from wikipedia.

There are no births in Kelton between those dates for a Robert Douglas.

I found 2 births in Kirkcubrightshire

1899 DOUGLAS ROBERT M KIRKPATRICK DURHAM (KIRKCUDBRIGHT) /KIRKCUDBRIGHT

1899 DOUGLAS ROBERT M LOCHRUTTON /KIRKCUDBRIGHT

Neither, as you can see, is Castle Douglas but they are in the rough area.

The first was to an Elizabeth Douglas (illegitimate)

The second to Robert and Mary Douglas ms Halliday

Scottish info after 1901 can only be found on Scotland's people website, which is pay-to-view.

Credits cost £7.00 for 30

Presumably, your friend is related to the child born in 1924

How do you know where and when Robert Douglas was born? Is the information proven and accurate? or is your friend guessing?

Has anyone found any more information regarding Robert Douglas. I'd be very keen to hear as I believe I may be related to the son he had out of wedlock.

Thanks.

Welcome to the board, Melanie.

Scotlands People shows no births of a David Douglas or Donaldson in either Kirkcudbrightshire or Dumfries & Galloway 1920-1930

It's probably a long shot, but you could try contacting Eddie to see if his friend found out any more about Robert.
Click on Eddie's name at the top of one of his posts, and send your message. If he still uses the email address he registered with GR, he will be notified that he has a message from you.

Then he may (or may not) reply.
Good luck!
