Irish Fairlie's from Dromore

My ancestor was William Fairlie who worked at Gill Hall in Dromore, County Down. Whilst there he had two children with an Elizabeth McDead. They were:- |

Irish registration didn't begin until 1864, except noncatholic marriage they began 1845. No vital records where lost in Dublin 1922. Only the 1841 & 51 census where lost in that fire, the rest where destroyed one way or another. C.O.I. records up to 1870 where also lost in that fire, but some churches kepted copies. There is very few R.C. & Presbyterian records for that time frame due to the penal laws. The Ulster Historial Foundation have the largest church records online for Co. Down. ancestryireland.com They are also part of rootsireland.ie |

Alan, the only other place I can think of is the Gill Hall estates records, I'm not 100% sure, but they are probably held in PRONI in Belfast. |
