Marie Celeste thank you for all your help. I have done as you suggested and added Australia to my post. Yes, the names are interesting. Actually Rosalie (Carle) was married 3 times:
1. to James Crockett (who up and died)
2. to James Robert Hill (who turned out to be a bigamist!)
3. to Robert James Wright (who also up and died!

And we believe that Robert James (James Robert) Wright was also married before, in 1942, to Eileen Theresa Redshaw! I have that marriage cert, and on this he is a metallurgist, birthplace Stakeford Eng, father: William Wright, mother Margaret Hogg, and fathers occupation: research engineer! GO FIGURE!

I have come to the conclusion that James Robert Wright may have had something to hide, thus the conflicting stories on all his official certificates!

Well, Rosalie would never have had to worry about calling her latest husband by the name of the last one!

That 1942 marriage seems to pull it together and indicates he was definitely a bit of a Walter Mitty.

Have you had a trawl through the newspaper archives on Trove? http://trove.nla.gov.au/

Marie Celeste, yes I've looked through Trove many times as well. A real mystery this one! Thanks for all your help. Janeene
