Because the records say that the grave was not a private grave may just mean that the family did not actually purchase the plot - not that he was in a communal grave. A grave only becomes "private" if the family pay for the plot and then continue to pay for it every so many years (in some cases every 25 years and in others every 50 years). If the family stop paying after so long then the grave stops being "private" - or at least that's my understanding of how it works. |
