Thanks Marie Celeste. I must of Imagined another Morris on the electoral register, maybe I am thinking of another part of my tree. My ancestry hasn't been very straightforward, although I must say has been an interesting story in many ways.
Thank you for your help everyone. I am going to input all the info from here and go from there.

I've tracked Joshua George through the ER.
He was at 13 Winforton Street, Greenwich from 1925 to 1938.
In 1925 & 1926 there was also an Ernest Henry Davis with him. From 1930 to 1934 there is Joshua George & Clara Alice Morris and Ernest Henry, Doris & Gladys Davis recorded at the address.
From 1935 to 1938 there is only Joshua George & Clara Alice at that address.
There was no ER during WW2.
Sometime between 1938 and 1946 (which I posted above they moved to 40 Queens Walk, Harrow. At that address in 1947 there is a Robert W Berryman with them. From 1948 to 1965 it seems to be just Joshua George and Clara Alice.

No unfortunately I don't know Joshua George juniors occupation.
I suppose I could order his marriage cert to find out. I had an electoral register lookup done for 40 queens walk in harrow for 1940s many years back, but seem to of misplaced. I am convinced there was another Morris as well as Joshua and Clara at the address at the time. Maybe a child? But for some annoying reason I haven't recorded it into my notes section and if it was a child, maybe one they adopted, if they were fostering and no child seems to exist from them on the gro index.
I am going to see if I can find it the lookup notes in my family tree box.it is still unpacked waiting to be found since we moved.
Thank you everyone for you help with this. I was struggling to find any of them in the census, but it shows a few fresh eyes, can pull up a few things.

No it's quite clear, there are other children on the same admission page living in Bloomfield Street - Elizabeth Still, b1890 father William at no 60, and Lily Wright, 1892, father Frank at no 28
ADDED sorry got Elizabeth's father wrong. They are on 1901 transcribed as Hill in Broomfield Street, but like you say no Morris's there.

Could it be Broomfield Street? No Morris's at number 50.
There is a Bloomfield Road but it only goes to number 49.

Joshua George snr seems to change his name quite a bit, christened under Joshua George, and appearing on census under Joshua - can't understand why he married as just George and then appears on children's christenings os Joseph George.

thanks everyone for all your help, that has cleared a few things up.
I dont think Joshua George Morris junior had a name change, because he was still that in the 1940s. He and his wife Clara lived at 40 Queens Walk in Harrow and was the address my grandfather gave on his marriage cert (1946). My father was given the middle name Morris, after them.
I am not sure exactly when my grandfather was in their care, he was born in 1924 and joined the navy aged 16, I think he was definately in their care at that time.
I was hoping there might be some descendant of theirs somewhere, that might know about them and their life, to paint a picture of my grandfather;s time with them and maybe pinpoint the home he was in from aged 2. I know he thought highly of them and was the closest thing he had to real parents. Sadly he passed away in 1977 so he is around to ask.
All the childrens homes I have contacted for searches have drawn blanks. I suppose it could of been a hospital for sick children, as he was supposedly quite sick. Maybe as more records come online, I may find out exactly where he was placed at age 2.

As Joshua appears in the 1901 as "Single" with his parents, i wonder if perhaps Mary had died and Joshua and Lydia were fostered out and given different names.

I think the father was actually Joshua George Morris. He seems to have wandered back home to his parents (Christopher and Ellen) by 1901 and claims to be single.
Bit of a job to find Mary Ann and children in 1901!!!! (if all still living, that is....)
