Find Ancestors

A few years ago whilst attempting my ancestry - I had contact with the sherwood foresters in Nottm - who had all sherwood foresters records.... my grandad I got all information on...however they also sent me another record which I also beleived to be a distant relative.....I have since discovered it isnt the same person - however I do feel that the person they sent me is connected.
I have a roll for a Percy R Spurr enlisted in Nottm lived at old basford Nottingham and date of death is 16th may 1917 aged 29 so born in aprox 1888? his wife was ethel spurr of 49 northgate new basford, nottingham. He died of wounds (first world war) and is buried in chocques military cemetery france.
Im quite sure this must be a connection to my Spurr family - can anyone see who is parents would be?

I wonder who fathered Ethel M?

Ok I am looking for a possible connection to my tree - I have a relative called John Spurr born in 1824 in Bottesford leic..his parents were another john Spurr and mother elizabeth Breedon. As John Spurr b 1824 is my great great grandads brother who moved to Nottm and married and had children - I am wondering if the other male siblings also married and moved to Nottingham - possibly where percy robert originated......... otherwise I cannot see a connection to my ancestry.

I have only the relatives researched for Robert Spurr b 1831 and Thomas Spurr born in 1842 - their marriages and children.

So that leaves Henry of the male children shown in 1841............and frankly, it's unlikely that he would have been married by 1858

You referred earlier to 'John'..............where does he fit in?

He wasn't with the family in 1841 (he was elsewhere in Bottesford) and you haven't included him in your 'little list'

Reggie - also my John Spurr I have as born in Hoveringham nottinghamshire born in 1798.....maybe im wrong - in my dates......as you have 1801???? Bottesford and hoveringham are very close.

Ages in 1841 were 'rounded down' to nearest 5.............so that would fit

And Bottesford was place of abode..........birthplaces were not recorded in 1841.
