Do be careful with that Baptism though Sheila - there is a tree on Ancestry which, although I never trust such trees normally, does claim that baptism for another person of the same name and it does appear to be quite a well researched tree.

It 'could' be your Joseph but there remains a possibility that it is not.

There is another tree which does show 'your' Joseph and family, again there is a lot of interesting info but they too have been unable to find the family on 1851 census.

If you do not have access to Ancestry you will be able to view the trees via the Mundia site. You have to join but it is a free site.

Mine must be with the missing census I think.

I didn't have this baptism.

Thank you AnnCardiff for looking I have those.

Its just that 1851 census that I can't find.

But I can find the rest of her family for that census either.

I have looked to see if they left England for awhile, but can find no records of them having done so.

Hi All, can you help please

I can't find Adelaide Massingham in the 1851 census.
She was born 1838 in Middlesex. and never married.
Her father was Joseph Massingham born 1796

I have found her on all other census but this one.
I am curious as to where she got to.

Many Thanks

Sheila
