St Georges Mission Warrington

does anybody know where I could get any info on St Georges Mission .it was in Brick St Warrington..it is now knocked down have no idea when it was demolished

Probably your best bet would be Lancashire Archives n Preston. The mission was part of the parish of St Elphins, there was also St Clements mission in Bank Street.

can't see anything in the Lancs Archive catalogue. I think more info is held at the Cheshire archives as Warrington transferred to Cheshire

thank you for the advice lancs archives has nothing .I do not know when it was demolished .it was still there in the late 40s that's all I know at the present

thank you this is very helpful my great grandfather was commended for the good work he did at St Georges mission Warrington
even though he died in 1901 he had a good write up in the Warrington Guardian paper ..and the work he did at this mission is mentioned
