Familysearch has a John Boorman born in Chatham christened on 2nd December 1750, son of John and Sarah.
Siblings are:

James - 23 October 1748
Susanna - 3 December 1749
Benjamin - 26 January 1752

all in Chatham.

According to this son George was born 1780:

BOORMAN, George Christening
Gender: Male
Christening Date: 12 Apr 1780 Recorded in: Chatham, Kent, England
Collection: BTs
Father: John BOORMAN
Mother: Ann DAY
Source: FHL Film 1469178 Dates: 1764 - 1790

Edit: It's unusual to have mother's maiden name on such an early record. Could it be that the parents weren't married?

John married an Ann Day. Do not know when. One son George Thomas Boorman c1786-1868 who married Rebecca Moore c1793-1831
