you would indeed expect that ........................ but it was the only birth / death which seemed to fit.
There was only one Selina birth registered under that name from 1890 to 1895 ........... and that was in either 189o or 1890.
I found her on the censuses .............. different parentage.

Looks promising Sylvia but you would think that having been given a name at baptism her death would be registered in that name

How does Wandsworth Registration area fit into the area where you know the Brookers lived??
There is this record on freebmd .................
Births Dec 1893 (>99%)
Brooker Female Wandsworth 1d 599
and
Deaths Dec 1893 (>99%)

Just out of interest, the Parish Register with the entry for Selina Brooker has PB written in the margin next to her name
This indicates that it was a Private Baptism ............... usually done when the child was "sickly".

Trying to find ancestor to what ever happened to her Selina Brooker
My great Grandmother Lousia Brooker nee Deacon from Croydon had 5 children, 2 of the children died in a house fire aged 3 yrs and 18 months in September 1886, my grandmother was Louisa Brooker was 8 months old and was not in the house at that time.Another 2 sisters born 1890 and 1892 the last daughter Selina Brooker born 1893 Selhurst Croydon she is the one we can not find out what happened to her. In 1896 James Brooker (father) died and the children were sent to the work house in Croydon as the mother was in and out of hospital for a very long time a lot of Questions un answered Janet Australia
