Thank you Margee I found that marriage and with a name like John's it must be him.
I will see if either of these ladies was born in the correct area for the census, we have had a laugh because on the census it says he was a domestic in actual fact he was a solicitor, I think he would turn in his grave at that comment.

There are 2 Torkington births with mother's maiden name Guyatt but none with MMN Hudson:

I have a family on the 1911 census, My Great Uncle John Kerr Torkington, it says his wife is Dora, I cannot find a marriage for him to anyone of that name. Could it be another name for either Emily or Polly ??
