To Marie Celeste.
I'm trying to find information about the whole Howard/Abbs side as I knew very little from my family. I shall now investigate further. Thank you.

These are the step siblings you mention but they are the children of Stephen Abbs, who is the son of James Abbs and his previous wife Jane. Stephen would have been a step sibling to the Howard children

Hello Valerie - you already seem to have quite a bit of info about his immediate family. Could you be specific about what you're trying to find and we'll do our best to help.
You give the surnames as Howard/Abbs - does that mean they could be known as either?

Can anyone help me with information about Robert Deighton Howard/Abbs, born 1869 in Whitby North Yorkshire. His sisters Florence Mary Howard/Abbs, Lena Ann Howard/Abbs, Maud Howard/Abbs and Ada Howard/ Abbs. My grandfather James Francis Howard was a brother, all were born in Whitby and on different census returns were called Howard and Abbs. They had step siblings called James William Abbs, Ellen Abbs, Stephen Abbs, Eden Abbs also all born in Whitby.
